Córdoba

Córdoba is a city located in the south of the Andalusia region of Spain, located on the banks of the Guadalquivir River. It was a Roman city of great importance and was established in the 2nd century BC.

In the Middle Ages it was one of the main Islamic centers. It is famous for the huge mosque that dates back to 784 AD.

The UNESCO World Heritage List includes four elements of great historical importance: the historic center of the city of Córdoba, the city of the Caliphate of Zahra, the Plaza de Fiestas de Córdoba and the Mosque – Cathedral of Córdoba.
